How to best support the artists you love

Independent artists need all the help we can get. Sally Wiggins and I decided to create this article as a reference for ways you can support us and other creatives whose work you enjoy (in addition to coming to shows and listening to our music of course!) It is by no means exhaustive and will likely evolve over time. Many of these measures won’t cost you a thing but their impacts are invaluable to us.

Follow us on socials and streaming platforms

Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, Amazon, YouTube… the list goes on and our music is on all of them. Any way that you can engage with our music on these platforms (in addition to listening) is a huge help. Basically it all helps to tell the system that it might be worth showing this music to more people.

Likewise we’re likely to be on your favourite social platform. These platforms are the main way we promote gigs and share new music, I also share my drawing and poetry there. A healthy social media following might help convincing venues and festivals that it’s worth taking a chance on booking us (and believe me, some considerable convincing is often required.)

I’ve included a few of our main profiles below:

Engagement - share / comment on posts

Related to the above, if you’re following us on socials then please engage with the posts. Liking is awesome, commenting is even better and sharing is even even better. This engagement helps the posts to reach more people organically (ie. without us having to pay the oligarchs). Also if you get some video or photos at a gig, please feel free to share them and tag us.

Buy our music on Bandcamp

Bandcamp is the best platform we know for supporting musicians - basically every dollar you spend goes to the artist minus a small revenue share (which they wave entirely on Bandcamp Friday.) You don’t even have to download the music any more - anything you purchase goes into your library and you can stream it on their app. Also, for the audiophiles - Bandcamp allows you to download lossless files and shows if an album is available in 24bit high definition.

Make a donation

We can accept donations directly through the form below and are grateful for absolutely any contribution.

Tell your friends!

This is my favourite one because it’s really the most important - if you love something, tell people about it. Word of mouth is so powerful in this age when the whole world is constantly vying for our attention. Sharing the things we love deepens our connections and ultimately that is what holds the world together.

Thank you!
